Another in our series of colour slides taken on the occasion of the re-dedication of the War Memorial in 1972 showing once again the Black Watch Association band making its way across the wide open spaces of the town bridge en route to the Royal British Legion club in Lewin Street. The man with the bass drum is, presumably, directly behind the imposing police presence on the left in the person of well-known local bobby Len Giles. At least, that's who I think it is. Can anyone confirm the identity of the Constable in question?
In the background members of the Fire Brigade are about to make the turn into Leadsmithy Street.
